Unfortunately FREE also means they control your site and can delete it at any time. Whatever you choose - just get started and learn as you go - it’s easy and great for marketing your site.

I just came across a crazy competition between two guys about blogs. It’s the ‘COWpetition‘ between Garry Conn and John Cow. They will each build a brand new blog, SEO it, post to it and build up it’s value before selling it on SitePoint. The winner will be the owner of the blog that sells for the most on SitePoint a month later. This will be a great chance to study how the experts build powerful blogs (and even make money selling them).
